FRENCH MASTERS - WEEK 3 - FRAGONARD @ PROVENCE
Join Luca Pietrosanti, art historian extraordinaire + friends for a journey through the lives and works of just four of the great French artists and artistic practices from the Medieval to Modern era.
The lights and colors of the French Riviera also inspired the greatest French Fauvist painter, Henri Matisse. In Vence, we’ll discover what he considered his greatest accomplishment: the decoration of chapel of Saint-Marie du Rosaire. We’ll explore the creative process that, through the combination of multiple artistic techniques—painting, sculpture, collages and stained glass windows—allowed Matisse to fuse national traditions with modernity.
