Itinerary
Art in Rome is more alive than ever. You’ve seen the masterpieces in museums and spectacular churches, now experience art on the walls of Rome’s “quartieri” just outside the city center. Historically working-class industrial neighborhoods, each with their own unique history and feel, are becoming open-air museums thanks to the works of local and international street artists. Let’s discover the most important ones together and learn more about the social context in which this “people’s art renaissance” is taking place.
Luca will also explore local food, spirits and interesting personalities in each neighborhood.

Ostiense
Ostiense is a cool and trendy district, undergoing gentrification and creative reuse of industrial buildings as cultural centers for contemporary art, theater, dance and other community activities. The exciting food scene is one of the reasons so many Romans flock to this neighborhood. In fact, it's home to Luca's favorite street food—the trapizzino—which he plans to order and share (virtually) with us! Another major highlight of Ostiense is the street art, so colorful, quirky and impactful, covering entire buildings and entire walls along city blocks. Così bello!
